At Phoenix Crematory Services, by design, we run a lean operation in terms of staff and facility. Why? So we can pass our savings on to you! Our “no-frills” approach simply means our team of professional’s only focus is caring for your loved one’s cremation. Because this is a Clock Family Services sister company, you can be sure that the level of care and professionalism you will receive is of the highest standard.
Brett is a fifth generation cremation professional. He was born in Battle Creek, MI, graduated high school from Kalamazoo Christian High School where he was a Class C basketball state champion and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from the Hayworth Business College of Western Michigan University. He and his mother Jodi M. Clock, became business partners when they made the decision to purchase Phoenix Crematory Services from Bradley Young in 2007. Brett is married and has two sons. When he is not caring for families, you can find him spending time with his family and friends enjoying what our lakeshore community has to offer.
Jodi spent her childhood growing up in southern Indiana until her family relocated to Battle Creek, MI. She began her career teaching funeral professionals how to talk families about pre-planning in 1988. In 2003 she became Dale Clock’s business partner and in 2005 they married. In 2005 she also opened one of the country’s first pet loss centers and has partnered with hospice on pet grief. Jodi is an international speaker, author, certified pet loss professional, educator and considered to be a thought leader in her profession. She helps many families pre-arrange and fund their funeral. When she is not working you will find her spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, helping out in the animal rescue world and enjoying as much of Lake Michigan as possible.
I just want to thank you for everything you have done to make this horrible injustice done to our family a little bit more tolerable. From the moment you guys stepped in, you did not leave our side and walked us through every step of the way. The countless phone calls and visits to my Uncle will never be forgotten. God bless you both for standing up and taking care of us.

So I just wanted to tell people they were so helpful and professional, kind and these people were wonderful we needed nothing. They took care of everything and set up a payment plan my sister and his father could manage.
End-of-life planning is a difficult subject to talk about—between facing mortality (either your parents or your own) to discussing the ever-confusing subject of Medicare, there’s nothing fun about facing death and the issues that come with it.
