Marva June Schrieber, 94 years, of Muskegon Township, Muskegon, MI. Peacefully parted this life on Tuesday October 6, 2020. The first born of John Henry & Edna Belle (Pekelder) Timmer, June 2, 1926 in Muskegon. A 1944 class member of Muskegon High School. Marva, a beautiful and stylish red headed secretary married on Aug 31, 1946 Mr. Jack Robert Schrieber a local Jazz Trumpet player in Muskegon. She was known to be a witness and help with the record keeping for Jack's Justice of the Peace duties over the years. Marva was a past member of the Muskegon Women's Club. Also, a member of The First Congregational Church, where she occasionally played the organ. An avid reader who was always up to date on all current events. Marva had a wonderful way of communicating and debating her thoughts and opinions. It was not a good idea to start one of those debates in the car. One of her favorite rides was to Lake Michigan. There she would reminise about family outings. Home decorating was her passion over the years. She loved painting pictures on canvas. Come spring it was time for a new pattern of pillows and table coverings to adorn the screen porch and back yard.
Surviving are her loving family, Son Dana (Cindy) Schrieber, Brother Kenneth (Marge) Timmer, Nephews Tim and Tom Timmer, Niece Carol Jean, Step-grandchildren Christopher (Carrie) Reynolds, Courtney (Donny) Morris, Always known as grandma June to her step-great grandson Jace Reynolds. Marva also leaves many dear friends she loved meeting for lunch dates.
Preceded in death by her husband Jack, son David, sister Kathlyn Hulbert. Marva loved her family's genealogy and the following of her roots. She wanted everyone to know the family members who preceeded her. Maternal grandparents Benjamin G. and Catherine (Sterenberg) Pekelder, Maternal great grandparents George and Lummechiena (Korfker) Pekelder, and Egbert and Edna (de Lange) Sterenberg all of the Netherlands. Peternal grandparents Henry P. and Maggie (Slager) Timmer from Netherlands and MI. Paternal great grandparents Peter and Matje (Sterneberg) Timmer of the Netherlands and Pieter and Mabel Slager.
Per her wishes, following cremation a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Marva wants her loving family and friends to remember her a peaceful, caring person, who loved life to the fullest. She was always thankful for what she had and enjoyed giving to those she could help. She will be missed dearly by so many.
In lieu of flowers please send your donations of support in her name to The Muskegon Rescue Mission, 1715 Peck Street, Muskegon, MI 49441.

I have known June since the days at the First Congregatonal Church! In the past several years I was honored to attend several luncheons at her home. She was the perfect hostess and the table was set beautifully. I know she was proud of her Dutch heritage! I last spoke with her on her birthday. We always talked about the fact that June was born in June!
I extend my deepest sympathy and may you hold dear in your heart your treasued memories.
June was a wonderful friend who will be missed so very much ! She was a thoughtful hostess and made the best Tomato Aspic ! She frequently expressed how fortunate and grateful she was, to have such great "kids" living next to her, who took such good care of her. Cindy's meals were certainly a highlight of the day, as was Jace, whenever he visited ! I am thankful that I was able to talk to her via phone during the last weeks....she was always so upbeat, calm and accepting. Thank you, Dana, for keeping me informed along the way. Your Mom was very proud of you !
With sincere condolences,
Sharing some photos of June
