Parrott,
Doris Stella
Muskegon, Michigan

Doris Parrott, age 93, joined her husband Lyle, in heaven, on April 14, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born on October 24, 1927 to Hazel and Clifford Cooper in Muskegon, MI, and was an identical twin and one of twelve children (eleven girls and one boy). Doris was a stay-at-home mom, raising her kids alongside close friends and neighbors on Cornell Road. There were always friends at the kitchen table having coffee, while the neighborhood kids gathered to play games in the yard. Sundays were designated family days, spent visiting family and friends, and stopping for ice cream along the way. Butter Pecan was Doris' favorite, and Lyle's was always chocolate. What great times those were. During Christmas, Doris and her sister Jackie would bake various kinds of cookies, and make their famous sea foam. Doris was full of life, outgoing, and loved her cigarettes! She didn't have much of a filter - always speaking what was on her mind. For fun, she loved watching her grandkids play sports, catching a Detroit Tigers game on tv, and working in her yard. We will always have fun memories of playing on Snapchat with her, making funny faces and laughing hysterically. Her grandchildren will cherish memories of family summer camping trips, building forts in the living room and remembering how she let them do whatever they wanted to, as long as they were having fun. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her children Diane and Vern Westerhof from Holland, Jan Schumacher from North Muskegon, Phyllis and Mike Sullivan from Muskegon, and Lyle and Becky Parrott from Traverse City. Her grandchildren: TJ Schumacher (Michelle Williams), Tara and Mike Steketee, Michael Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan (Kaleigh Sumner), Kristin Parrott, and Brandon and Melanie Parrott. Her great grandchildren: Sebastian and Magnolia Steketee, Westyn, Carsyn, and Ender Parrott, and Jaxson and Josie who lovingly called her LaLa. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, her infant son, and her son-in-law Tom Schumacher. If you wish to make a donation in Doris' name, please consider Hospice of Muskegon Michigan. There will be a celebration of life for Doris at a later date. Please visit www.muskegoncremation.com to leave a memory or sign the online guestbook.

She will be so missed by so many. Always such fun to be with...the days spent with her and Aunt Delores were the best....so glad we had that. Precious memories. Now she is laughing with her sisters, Uncle Lyle and her many friends. Peace surround you, Sweet Aunt Doris.

Doris was always a joy to be around. I loved her sense of humor and her kindness. She’d bake mini loaves of bread as a thank you for Vern and Tim for doing simple chores for her. I love hearing Diane tell the stories of her childhood. It sounds like Doris never met a stranger she didn’t befriend. She will be greatly missed by her entire family. Praying her entire family finds peace.

CandleI sure am going to miss this beautiful lady. Now she is in Heaven with Uncle Lyle and my mother and dad and i know they are planning all kinds of thing to do with the rest of family and friends who have left us all to soon. Oh the stories we can all share of things she has done and laugh and smile at each one. The last one is when she came to visit my mother Dee, her twin at the nursing home. we had to talk to het threw a window because of the covid but she was so happy to see her. Mom didnt have her teeth as they got lost so Doris offered her to share hers with mom. They would do any thing for each other no matter what. Even each of the nurses had to come and see Doris as mom would go around in the home looking for Doris, and Doris was doing the same. That is the kind of person she was , thinking of others and sharing with them no matter what. Have a cigarette, dance on the table , till we meet again Aunt Doris. Love you
